Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital
Albany, Georgia

Alcon has been working consistently with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for many years as a General Contractor, Construction Manager, and Design Build firm for a multitude of healthcare projects.  Alcon has worked with the owner and four different design teams from project concept, including preparing budgets for CON submittals; through design development, with the responsibility for budget, schedule, and constructability, through construction, project closeout and commissioning.

Projects include additions to, expansions of, and renovations of an 80-year-old medical center serving all of Southwest Georgia. Major projects have included a new 5-story poured concrete parking deck, a new 200,000 SF Medical Office Building, a new 140,000 SF Surgical Wing with 16 new high technology Operating Room Suites, a new Central Energy Plant with 2,800 tons of chilled water capacity, a new 100,000 SF Emergency and Obstetrics Wing, and a new 70,000 SF world-class rehabilitation center.

Most recently, Alcon constructed two major projects for PPMH, the Meredyth Drive satellite campus (Winner of the 2004 Build Georgia Award for New Construction) and the 9th Floor Renovation and Conversion (Winner of the 2004 Build Georgia Award for Renovations).
 

 

 

 

 

St. Francis Hospital
Columbus,  Georgia

A recent St. Francis Hospital project consists of three levels of addition, totaling 54,000 SF, plus an interstitial space adjacent to the existing hospital facility, with approximately 15,000 SF of remodel adjacent to the new addition. Additional projects at St. Francis include a 500-space parking deck, new medical office building, linear accelerator, and central energy facility.

As part of the addition, Alcon constructed a three-story atrium featuring a beautifully arched sky-light ceiling.
